INTRODUCTION:
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Veleru, Krishna, Andhra Pradesh Library is the nerve-centre and the heart of the vidyalaya and plays a vital role in supporting, teaching and learning activities, and provides the main source for individual demand. Library is meant to help academic community to keep abreast with the latest development in their area of activities and to provide information support for regular study and academic activities. At the same time for students, Library is a source to get information support for their course curriculum as well as for their self-development. A well-stocked full automated library equipped with latest books and magazines on fiction, non-fiction, Personalty Development and science stream related area.
The Library &Information center of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Veleru, Krishna, A.P. is a spacious and attractive with relevant books and information. This is a part of the Vidyalaya and offers access to Books, Periodicals, automation Software 4.0 Powered by National Informatics Center, New Delhi.
The school Library of
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Veleru, Krishna, Andhra Pradesh, caters to the
information needs of Students and Staff
members of the Vidyalaya. With a collection of 6644, judiciously selected
books, 39 Periodicals and Educational multimedia the Library complement the
teaching learning process inspiring the students to dream high. The School
Library is fully automated with the Library Management Software “E-GRANTHALAYA 4.0
Powered by National Informatics Center, New Delhi & Recommended by NVS,
NOIDA.
MISSION:
The Library provides a welcoming learning environment for students and staff; supports the school’s aims and curriculum; encourages the love of reading and development of students’ independent learning skills.
LIBRARY PERIODS:
According to the school time table the students of
Class VI- XII can visit the library for the issue and return of the books
during their library periods. They can refer books and participate in library
activities during this time.
BORROWING INFORMATION:
STUDENTS:
02 book for a period of 02 weeks.
FACULTY AND STAFF:
Maximum 05 books for a period of 01 month. The users should submit their ID cards for the automated circulation of books.
OPEN ACCESS / CLASSIFICATION:
The Library follows an open access system. The books are
classified and shelved according to the Dewey decimal classification (ED.19).
Every book is bar-coded and spine labels are attached.
LIBRARY AUTOMATION:
The stock and services of the library has been
automated with integrated Library Management Software (E-granthalaya) OPAC
(Online Public Access Catalogue) of Library holdings is available. Patrons can
search by using keywords, author, title and Subject.

5. To adopt E- Granthalaya software for library automation.
